This snickers slice is so good you won't want to share it with the kids! Store it in your freezer to keep it nice and firm and pull a slice out while you wait for your cup of tea to brew. Such a treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup rice puffs
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp of sea salt flakes

Method

  1. In a food processor, blend the dates until they form a sticky paste.
  2. Add in the peanut butter, roasted peanuts and rice puffs. Pulse until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into a square baking dish lined with baking paper. Place in the freezer to set.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, coconut oil, cacao powder and sea salt until smooth.
  5. Pour the chocolate mixture on top of the peanut butter mixture in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Return the dish to the freezer and let it set for at least 1 hour.
  7. Once set, remove from the freezer and cut into bars.
